Tripura is a state in Northeast India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491 km square. Most residents are involved in agriculture and allied activities, although the service sector is the largest contributor to the state's gross domestic product. There are 15 general colleges,Including three engineering colleges.
There are both government as well as private institutes situated in Tripra who strive to provide best possible education to BTech aspirants. ICFAI University, The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura Institute of Technology are few of the private BTech colleges functioning in Tripura. National Institute of Technology Agartala (NITA), Indian Institute of Technology, agartala (IIT-Tripura) are some of the government aided colleges of Tripura for BTech courses.
These colleges provide BTech with various specializations to choose from, like: BTech in computer science and engineering, BTech in civil engineering, Btech in mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, instrumental engineering, telecommunication engineering, BTech in Bio engineering, etc. Duration of course may vary as per specialized choices.
IIT-Tripura and TIT find students eligible who have scored 45% aggregate marks in PCM (10+2), for reserved categories the aggregate is 40%. ICFAI University, Tripura, accepts students who have scored 50% in 10+2 from state boards or equivalents.
Most colleges select students on the basis of marks and valid ranks in the JEE mains exam and TJEE. Tripura Joint Entrance Examination is a state level exam, formed by Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE).
Fees of a government funded college is different than that of a private college. A private Btech college like the ICFAI University will cost around INR 2 to 3.7 lakhs. A Government college like NITA will have a fee structure ranging from INR 70 thousand to 4 lakhs. The fee may vary depending upon the specialization and the duration of it.
The NITA, the ICFAI University and The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura provide scholarships to BTech students on merit basis.
