Placements and internships have always been great at our college. In addition to that jobs are also awarded by the companies. However, the number of internships and placements vary from one stream to another. Software branches like it use etc. we have a higher number of interns as compared to other branches like ECE electrical etc. The packages again are exceptionally high for the software branches like come it etc going up to around rs. 70 lacs pa. All in all, there is no question that placements at once have certainly maintained their level of class

West Bengal is important state since the era of east India company. Shades of British empire can still be seen of its architecture. Located in the eastern part of the country, the state is famous for its love for literature, art and music and fish. Another thing West Bengal is famous for is Engineering. Private colleges of west Bengal are affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata. It us 298 colleges affiliated to it. Some of the renowned private colleges of West Bengal are Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata, Sanaka Educational Trust’s Group of Institutions, Durgapur.
Selection procedure for Btech colleges in West Bengal are through Joint Entrance Examination and West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. Students have to appear in either or both of the examination in order to take admission in Btech College in West Bengal. The eligibility criteria for WBJEE has to at least 18 years of age as on December 2018 and must have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% of marks (for reserved classes 40%). There is no upper age limit to take the exam. For IIT Joint Entrance exam candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum 45% (for reserved category 40%). For IITJEE the candidate can only appear in the exam twice in consecutive years. Upper age limit of IIT JEE is 25 years 5 years of relaxation is given to the candidates from backward classes
Fees for the B.Tech differs from college to college. Government college have comparatively less fees than private college. Government fees is divided on the basis of background and families annual income. For example, the fees for one semester in NIT Durgapur is INR 62500, however students falling under backward category will get full waiver of tuition fees, candidates whose family income is less in 1 lakhs per annum will also get full waiver of tuition fees, candidates whose family income is between 1 lakhs and 5 lakhs will get â…” waiver in the tuition fees. Similarly in IIT fees per of the entire course is high, but almost every student clearing IIT will be covered by the scholarship. Please refer below for table of scholarships offered.
The opportunities for the students after the course in B tech are huge. Btech is a job oriented course and West Bengal has immense opportunities for the Btech Graduates. Job Opportunities after B Tech are excellent in West Bengal as it has many industries and plants of almost all the major Indian companies and MNC’s.
