The IPU CET stands for Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, which is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) to admit undergraduate students to the engineering courses. Based on the merit list, more than 5000 students will be awarded seats in B. Tech across 81 affiliated institutes and 690 B. Tech seats in 35 government-affiliated colleges.
The university provides affiliations to various colleges in Delhi NCR Region. Without the approval of Indraprastha University, no college can provide any engineering course in the Delhi area except NSIT which is affiliated with the University of Delhi. For admission into colleges, affiliated to Indraprastha University, the university conducts common entrance Test CET for Their B.Tech and M.Tech courses. Admission in Indraprastha University are done through common entrance test. Guru Gobind singh Indraprastha University every year conducts the common entrance test for admission in its various undergraduate B. Tech programs. To get admission in B. tech program in Indraprastha University candidate must appear and clear IPU CET. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is one of the most reputed university for pursuing B. Tech in India. Application for the IPU-CET will begin from the month of February 2018 and will continue till april 2018. Exam would be conducted in the month of May. These dates are tentative and the actual would be announced on the official website of the GGSIPU. Mode of the examination and the mode of application both are online.
Through IPU-CET, students are offered admissions to 5,260 B. Tech seats in 81 affiliated private institutes and 690 BTech seats in 35 affiliated government institutes. The University reserves the right to cancel CET at any given time. But the University in its past history has never cancelled the exam but from time to time has postponed the exam for various reasons. B.Tech-CET has the code 131. The students are required to fill the appropriate course for which they want to sit.

IPU-CET is an important exam in the field of engineering. Every year thousands of students take IPU-CET exam and for year 2018 the exam date has been announced. For 2018 batch the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test will be conducted in the month of May. Actual dates are not declared yet, but it is expected to start from the month of february. Registrations will continue till the month of april and IPU CET 2018 will take place in the month of May. Result of the IPU-CET will be declared in the month of June. Eligibility criteria for taking IPU-CET 2018 is very basic. For a candidate to be eligible for the IPUCET he should be minimum 10+2 qualified from a recognized school or board. Candidate must be from the science stream. He should have Physics, chemistry and mathematics/biology as core subjects in the +2 examination. Candidate must have minimum 55% marks in the 12th board to be eligible for IPU-CET exam.
Candidates must check that they satisfy the required academic qualification for IPU CET 2018.
Application procedure of the IPU-CET starts with the registration of the application. The application process have not started yet, but is expected to start from the month of February. To appear for the IPU-CET candidates first have to register for the application. It involves filling the application form and payment of the application fees. Candidates can fill application form for IPU CET in online mode only.

Candidates who belongs to Delhi region are provided reservation of 85% of the total number of seats. However, the remaining 15% of total seats are reserved for Outside Delhi Region category.
