Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Exam 2018(KEAM)

KEAM is the abbreviated form of Kerala Engineering Agriculture and Medical Examination. Commissioner of entrance exam, government of Kerala will conduct the KEAM 2018 for the admission of candidates in B. Tech courses across the state. Candidates aspiring for undergraduate course in engineering can take admission in more than 300 colleges and institutes in the state of Kerala. Applications for the KEAM has not started yet but is expected to start in the month of February 2018. To take KEAM 2018 exam candidates needs to register themselves for the exam. Last date of filing the application for KEAM 2018 will be tentatively in the month of march 2018. 


KEAM 2018 will be on the month of April 2018 tentatively. The result for the same will be declared in the month of May. KEAM exam will consist of two papers. Paper 1 will consist of the questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 will consist of question from Mathematics and Biology. While preparing the result for KEAM 2018, marks obtained in the entrance and marks obtained in 10+2, both will be taken into consideration. KEAM 2018 Exam Dates


Exam dates for KEAM are not announced. It is expected that KEAM 2018 will take place in the month of April 2018. It is a tentative date, we will upload the actual dates of KEAM 2018 exam as soon as conducting body announces the dates. Registrations for KEAM 2018 is expected to start from the month of February 2018.

KEAM 2018 Eligibility Criteria

KEAM 2018 exam will be conducted by commissioner of entrance exam, Government of Kerala. To take the KEAM exam candidates have to meet certain eligibility criteria. There are various factors for the eligibility. Following is the eligibility criteria to take KEAM exam 2018.

  • Nationality. Candidate needs to be an Indian citizen to take KEAM 2018 exam.
  • Domicile. Candidates will be categorized and Keralite; Category 1. Non Keralite category 2. Keralite candidates will be given state domicile admission.
  • Age Limit. The lower age limit to take KEAM exam is 17 years of age. There is no upper age limit to take the exam
  • Qualification. The candidates should have scored 50% marks in Mathematics and an aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together. For admissions into the B.Tech
  • programmes under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/ Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges, the candidates should have scored an aggregate of 45% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics together.
  • Academic Requirement. Candidate should be +2 qualified for taking KEAM exam
  • Candidates in the final year can also apply for the exam

Document for verification

The documents to be submitted differ with each category of the applicants of KEAM 2018. Listed below are the names of the photocopied documents which the applicants will have to submit along with the print out of the filled KEAM Application Form 2018. No changes in the application form will be allowed after the online submission.

 

Keralite Category

  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate of the applicant showing the place of birth in Kerala. OR
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate of either of the parents of the applicant showing place of birth in Kerala with the certificate to establish the relationship between the parent and the applicant. OR
  • Passport of the applicant, issued by Government of India, showing place of birth in Kerala or of either of the parents of the applicant showing birth place as Kerala along with a relationship certificate of the applicant and the parent. OR
  • Birth certificate of the applicant or the parent with birth place as Kerala which is issued by a competent authority. OR
  • A certificate from the Village Officer/Tahsildar to show that the applicant or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala in the prescribed format. OR
  • Certificate from a competent authority showing that the parent of the applicant is an All India Service officer allotted to Kerala cadre.

Non-Keralite Category I

  • Certificate from the employer of the applicant’s parent in the prescribed format has to be submitted. Also a certificate to show that the applicant has studied 11th and 12th standard in Kerala has to be obtained from the head of the institution of the last attended school.
  • Residential certificate from the Village Officer/Tahsildar to prove that the applicant has been a resident of Kerala state for a period of five years within a period of 12 years of his/her studies.

Non-Keralite Category II

  • Certificate of completion of qualifying examination in the prescribed format to prove their nativity should be submitted. OR
  • Passport issued by Government of India to prove Indian citizenship.

SC/ST/OBC Category

  • The applicants belonging to the SC/ST/OEC category will have to submit their documents in a particular format. The documents should be placed in the following order.
  • Print out of the KEAM 2018 Application Form.
  • Caste Certificate issued by the concerned Tahsildar of the community.
  • Self attested copy of the SSLC (or equivalent) certificate of the applicant to prove date of birth.
  • Proof of Nativity
  • Course Certificate in original filled in with signature and seal of the Head of the Institution in which the candidate is studying OR self attested copy of the final year mark list of the qualifying examination.
  • Original certificates as proof in support of any claim for special reservation.
  • Self-attested copy of medical certificate from the District Medical Board in the case of ‘Persons with Disabilities’.
  • A photograph of the applicant (3.5 x 4.5 cm) same as the photograph uploaded on the online application, duly attested by the Head of the Institution which he/she studied last or by a Gazetted Officer should be affixed in the application form. All of the mentioned documents (as per the category of the applicant) along with the print out of the application form of KEAM 2018 will have to be sent to - “CEE, TVM of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, 5th Floor, Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001”. No applications will be accepted after the last date.
  • The last date for the online submission of the application form of KEAM 2018 is February 27, 2018. Admissions will be provided to all applicants who qualify the entrance examination which will be held on April 24 and 25, 2018 and meet the eligibility criteria set by the state.

KEAM Exam Reservation Details

  • Domicile students of Kerala State.
  • Students whose parents are working in Agriculture and fishery industries.
  • Parents of the students working as a Nurse in regular service under Gov't of Kerala.
  • Students who have some experience in the field of medicine.
  • Sports, Disability and Ex-service men.


Application Procedure

The online application form of KEAM 2018 has not started yet, but it will be available tentatively from the first week of February 2018. While filling the application form, the candidates will have to be very carefull and make sure that they fill correct and valid information in the form. Any discrepancy in the application may lead to the cancellation of the application. 

The last date to submit the filled application form of KEAM will be tentatively in the second week of March 2018. The candidates will also have to submit the printout of the filled application form along with the other required documents to the Office of Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. Application Forms for writing KEAM exams are usually made available by the first week of January every year
